With the hope of providing a more complete musical education plan, we will open courses in musical reading, rhythm, piano styles and interpretation, learning and memory techniques, history of music and musical analysis.

We believe that a flexible plan must be constructed for each student, according to age, level, personal goals in piano and what we consider to be their musical needs.

What follows is a short explanation of the contents for each different course. Each student will receive a separate recommendation for a study plan.

Musical Reading:
Through different games and activities, musical reading is learned, developing quick recognition of rhythmic, melodic and harmonic structures.

When these subjects are mastered, the student makes better use of practice time and instrument classes.

Rhythm:
Based on the Dalcroze method, which uses body movement as a medium for musical sensitization, allowing the student the experiment and internalize the same musical principles that will be used in instrument practice. It helps to develop auditive sharpness, nerve sensitivity, reaction time and improves time-space perception.

Musical styles and interpretation:
This is a group class for all students together. A sort of Master Class that covers topics common to all levels such as dynamics, musical expression, coherence in interpretation, technical problems, study methods, etc.

In some of the classes we will have guests who will offer their perspective on music and will answer questions.

This class will be given every Saturday between 10 and 11 am and is mandatory for every student of every instrument.

Learning and memory techniques:
Different topics on learning, schematic thought, memorization and study habits will be covered, as well as their application in music.

Music History:
Lic. Diego Díaz will offer more advanced students a course in music history, with the idea of expanding knowledge about periods in Art History, composers and different musical genres.
